We are delighted to announce that draft standards and short guidance for applying Principles 5 and 8 are now out for consultation.
Social Value International is building a movement to transform the way organisations account for value, make decisions and achieve social goals. An important part of our work is developing a principles-based approach for accounting for value and decision making. As a membership organisation we take pride in our work collaboratively creating standards and guidance for applying each principle. The members of Social Value International now span across 24 countries, making this a truly global community. These standards and guidance are key advice on how to apply the SROI methodology and will be taught as part of the SROI training once confirmed. They have been developed by the SVI Methodology Sub-Committee, with Ali Freeman and Jenni Inglis leading the authorship of both. We now have a six-week period for collecting your comments. The deadline for responses is 7th September 2021. We will then collate feedback and publish a standard in October subject to approval from the SVI board. This will not be the last opportunity to comment and improve the documents. We recognise that practice is evolving rapidly, and a regular schedule of updates is being planned for 2022 and beyond. Both documents represent the first versions of Standards and Short Guidance for Principles 5 and 8. In particular, Principle 8 is a significant milestone for SVI as it launches a new principle called Be Responsive. We recommend that you read Principle 8 first as this has implications for Principle 5. You are also advised to read a short blog that gives some context to the introduction of Principle 8. We thank you in advance for your comments and support. Instructions: 1. Download the draft standard for Principle 5 and Principle 8 in PDF 2. Complete the SVI commenting template in Microsoft Word 3. Please send all replies to hello@socialvalueint.org before 7th September 2021 |
