Updates from Social Value International: Adapting Through Crisis

First of all, we hope you, your colleagues, friends and families are all healthy and well during these hard and strange times.

Today, we are bringing you updates from our international member body, Social Value International who are working hard to build connections and open up remote opportunities during this time. If ever there was a time to harness connections and the power of collaboration to build back better, this is it. We must seize this moment to drive for systemic change.

There are several new opportunities available to both members and non-members during this time:

Remote/online training options:

We know that for many it is more important than ever to shine a light on social value right now. The following training options are available, with discounted rates for existing members:

1. The Practitioner Package

Who: this is available to everyone, including non-members. You do not have to be an accredited practitioner to participate

What: a dedicated online learning platform designed to guide you step-by-step through and SROI or Social Impact Report. The package is designed to offer practical support for anyone developing their social impact practice.

It contains a library of resources including templates for data collection and reporting and a series of introductory training videos that help practitioners to prepare for the online exam to become an Associate Practitioner with SVI.

The Associate Practitioner application usually costs £300, but for a limited time, we will be offering the Practitioner Package AND the level 1 application together for £300. Find out more about the Practitioner Package here, and about the Practitioner Pathway here

2. Practitioner Pathway

Social Value International have developed a new Practitioner Pathway, a tiered system of accreditation where new practitioners can develop their skills and gain accreditation along the way. This is an excellent option for members early in their journey, and offers a lower-cost option to certification.

3. Online Accredited Practitioner Training

SVI’s most popular training course, Social Value and SROI Accredited Practitioner training is now available online.

Over a 4 week period, this course will cover all of the same content as the 2 day course, delivered through 1 hr sessions of online delivery and group webinar sessions.  This is more contact time than takes place on the physical 2 day course and will include some 1-2-1 mentoring.

The next online course will begin on 20th April and will be running for 4 weeks.

4. SROI Mentoring Programme

The SROI mentoring programme is designed for individual practitioners who have completed the Practitioner Training and are undertaking an SROI. During three days of support, you will be taken through the SROI process, from scoping to reporting in five mentoring steps. These costs include 21 hours of remote contact (email, phone, Skype etc.) with a mentor.

Social Value UK Ideas Exchange

Social Value UK are running a series of free weekly webinars and virtual roundtables entitled the Social Value Ideas Exchange to provide some interaction and thought-provoking discussion with others in the social value sector

This series will be entirely free for members and non-members, and all are encouraged to sign up! All that is needed is Zoom, a webcam, and a microphone.

Other updates:

Social Value International would like to update you on The Global Impact Week starting in late September.

The Global Impact Week will kick start with a 2 day flagship conference taking place in Toronto, Canada with Social Value Canada.This conference will bring experts from around Canada, and the rest of the world together, to discuss some of the most pressing issues of our time!

The following 3 days, will then be a mix of online summits and in person events, workshops, webinars and seminars taking place right across Social Value International’s community. We’re really looking forward to bringing together experts, practitioners and organisations from all over the world together in this unique mixed-online conference.

We are also excited to announce that Social Value Matters in Bangkok, Thailand with Social Value Thailand will be going ahead at a new proposed date in July 2021!

Social Value Always Matters Interview Series

Social Value International is working with all of our affiliate networks across the globe to develop the Social Value Always Matters Interview series.
