Building on the success of conferences held in London, Milan, Istanbul, Taipei and Toronto (virtually in 2020), the SVM 2021 conference will be held from Bangkok, Thailand as a hybrid virtual and in-person event on the 20th and 21st October 2021.
The conference will take place both in person in Bangkok (for those who are able to travel) and virtually for the global audience, and will bring together leading voices from impact investing, academia, policy making, corporate sustainability, and practice to create a truly global event that celebrates and advances the developments of social value and impact management.
The theme for this year’s conference is ‘leading our transition to a sustainable world’, reflecting on the collaboration and innovation generated throughout the pandemic and how we can harness this to urgently make progress against the sustainable development goals.
With little more than 8 years to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and no country on target to achieve these by 2030, it is more urgent than ever to prioritize social value. The global response to COVID-19 shows that the world can work together to create the rapid responses required to solve the large-scale challenges that people and the planet face. This year’s conference will harness the power of the global SVI communities to focus the imperative and potential to build back better and to ensure that we create a sustainable and more equitable future for all.
Social value networks around the world will hold roundtables, workshops, seminars, webinars and events that capture the conversations happening with their country or region of operation. With actions that focus upon risk, leadership and tools and solutions, we can increase the value of our actions and change the way society accounts for value.
We invite you to join us for this year’s international conference; you can buy your tickets here – early bird tickets available now!
Social Value Aotearoa will also be hosting a local event aligned to the international conference to contextualise the issues discussed at the conference for our local community. We will release more information about this in the months leading up to the conference, but please feel free to get in touch at info@socialvalueaotearoa.nz if you are interested in being part of this event.
