Social Return on Investment (SROI) Training

This is our flagship product and by far our most popular offering. SROI is an internationally-recognised standard for measuring the value of social changes and creating a ratio for the social return on investment generated by a programme, organisation or project.

This training is designed for individuals and organisations who want to better understand their impact. You will learn how to measure impact which will help you to work in more impactful ways and communicate your impact to funders and communities. You might be a project manager, programme director, or a board member interested in learning how your organisation could better measure the stuff that matters.

Over the two-day workshop you will cover:

  • A step-by-step introduction to the Social Return on Investment (SROI) process
  • The principles underpinning SROI
  • Real life applications and examples to show how your organisation can use SROI to increase your impact
  • Learn how to complete an impact map
  • Learn how to value impact from the perspective of those affected
  • Understand causal effects at play in your work

Upon completion of the training you will receive a certification of achievement which is internationally recognised. You can also continue your journey by sitting the exam to become an Associate Practitioner, which gives you a formal and internationally recognised qualification in the field. You will receive a 30% discount on this exam if you book it within two months of attending this training.

Level One: Associate Practitioner Certification

The first step on the journey to becoming an accredited Social Value Practitioner is to sit the level one exam. Once you pass you become a certified Associate Practitioner, an internationally recognised standard acknowledging your skills in SROI and social impact reporting. You can then progress in your journey to become an Accredited and then Advanced Practitioner through further assessment, which we can also assist with.

This certification is only available to SVA members and it is strongly recommended that you complete a training course prior to sitting the exam. The cost is $600+GST with a discount available for those who complete the exam within two months of the SROI training.
